Uighur food

This is "dapanji" - big plate of chicken, eaten in a now-closed restaurant in Beijing. It's a Uighur specialty found in the Chinese province of Xinjiang and is seriously delicious. Unfortunately, there is no Uighur food to be had in New York. I visited the one contender - Cafe Kashkar - a couple of years ago, and found it disappointingly Uzbek. If anyone is up for a trip to Brighton Beach, though, I'd be willing to try it again!
